Fix a link that won't download, find a saved file, and learn what each message in the tool means.
Most common problems
Why won't my link download?
Almost every failed link comes down to one of these. Work down the list.
- 01
The post is private or needs a login
ReelsDownloader only works with public links. Posts from private accounts, friends-only posts, close-friends Stories and subscriber-only videos can't be fetched, because the platform only shows them to signed-in viewers it has approved. We never ask for your login, so there is no way around this. If the account is yours, switch the post to public or save it from the app's own archive.
- 02
The post was deleted or has expired
If the creator deleted the post, or a Story passed its 24 hours, the file no longer exists on the platform and there is nothing to fetch. Open the link in your browser: if the platform shows "Sorry, this page isn't available" or similar, the post is gone.
- 03
You copied a profile link instead of a post link
A link to someone's profile (for example instagram.com/username) points to a whole account, not one video or photo. Open the specific post, Reel or video first, then use its Share button and Copy link. That link usually contains /reel/, /p/, /video/ or /status/. See how to copy a link for each app.
- 04
The video is blocked in some countries
Some videos are restricted by the uploader or the platform to certain regions, or need age verification. These can fail to resolve even though you can see them in the app. There is no setting on our side that changes this.
- 05
An ad blocker is blocking the human-verification check
Some links need a one-time "Verify you are human" check from Cloudflare. Ad blockers and privacy extensions sometimes block it, and the tool then says verification couldn't load. Allow challenges.cloudflare.com in your blocker, or turn it off for reelsdownloader.in, then reload the page. You can also use the app instead.
- 06
The link isn't from a supported platform
The tool works with 19 platforms, listed on the All downloaders page. YouTube is not supported, on purpose. Shortened links from other services may also fail; open them first and copy the final address.
- 07
It worked before and fails now
Platforms change how they serve media from time to time, and a link can fail until we adapt. Wait a minute and try again. If it keeps failing, send us the link and we'll look at it.
What each message means
These are the exact messages the download tool can show, what caused them, and what to do next.
-
Paste a link first.
- What it means
- The box was empty when you pressed Download.
- What to do
- Copy a post link, tap the box, paste it, then press Download.
-
That doesn't look like a valid link.
- What it means
- What you pasted isn't a web address, or part of it is missing.
- What to do
- Copy the link again with the app's Copy link option instead of selecting text by hand. It should start with https://.
-
YouTube isn't supported.
- What it means
- The link is from YouTube, which ReelsDownloader intentionally doesn't support.
- What to do
- There is no workaround on this site.
-
That link isn't from a supported platform.
- What it means
- The link is from a site we don't handle.
- What to do
- Check the list of supported platforms on the All downloaders page.
-
This platform isn't supported yet.
- What it means
- We recognise the site but can't fetch from it at the moment.
- What to do
- Try again later, or tell us which site you need.
-
No downloadable media found for that link.
- What it means
- The link was read, but no video, photo or audio came back. Usually the post is private, deleted, expired, region-locked, or it's a profile link rather than a post.
- What to do
- Open the post itself, copy its own link, and check it plays when you're signed out.
-
Couldn't fetch that link right now — please try again shortly.
- What it means
- The platform didn't answer as expected this time. It can be temporary, or the platform may have changed something.
- What to do
- Wait a minute and try again. If it keeps happening for one platform, report the link.
-
The download service is temporarily unavailable — please try again shortly.
- What it means
- Our download service is briefly down or restarting.
- What to do
- Try again in a few minutes.
-
Too many requests — try again in a minute.
- What it means
- Many links were sent from your connection in a short time, so requests are paused briefly.
- What to do
- Wait a minute, then paste one link at a time.
-
Couldn't reach the download service — check your connection and try again.
- What it means
- Your device couldn't connect to our service. Usually a weak connection, a VPN, or a content blocker.
- What to do
- Check you're online, try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or pause a VPN or blocker.
-
We couldn't verify you're human — please try again.
- What it means
- The human-verification check didn't pass.
- What to do
- Reload the page and try again. Completing the check usually takes one tap.
-
Human verification couldn't load — it's usually blocked by an ad blocker or privacy extension. Allow challenges.cloudflare.com, or use the app.
- What it means
- Something on your device blocked Cloudflare's verification widget.
- What to do
- Allow challenges.cloudflare.com in your ad blocker or privacy extension, or pause it for this site, then reload.
-
Couldn't verify — please try again.
- What it means
- The verification check failed or timed out.
- What to do
- Press Download again. If it repeats, reload the page.
-
Couldn't load verification — please try again.
- What it means
- The verification widget didn't finish loading, often on a slow connection.
- What to do
- Reload the page once the connection is steadier.
-
Verification cancelled — paste a link to try again.
- What it means
- The verification window was closed before it finished.
- What to do
- Paste the link again and complete the check.
-
Couldn't build a zip — files opened separately instead.
- What it means
- Download all couldn't pack the files into one ZIP, often because the phone ran short of memory.
- What to do
- Nothing is lost: the files open one by one. Save each, or use Download on each file.
-
The download service isn't configured yet — please check back soon.
- What it means
- The site was loaded without its connection to the download service. You shouldn't normally see this.
- What to do
- Reload the page. If it stays, please tell us.
-
Something went wrong — please try again.
- What it means
- An unexpected error we couldn't classify.
- What to do
- Try again. If it repeats with the same link, send it to us.

- 1 Press Download on the version you want. If Safari asks, tap Download.
- 2 Open the Files app and go to Downloads (in iCloud Drive or On My iPhone, depending on your settings).
- 3 Tap the video or photo to open it.
- 4 Tap Share, then Save Video (or Save Image) to put it in your Photos.

Saving on Android
On Android, downloads go to the Download folder on your phone.
- 1 Press Download on the version you want. Chrome shows a notification when it's done.
- 2 Tap the notification, or open the Files app (Files by Google or your phone's file manager) and go to Downloads.
- 3 Videos and photos in the Download folder also show up in your Gallery or Google Photos, usually under a Download album.
