This page is for creators and rights holders who are concerned about how ReelsDownloader is used with their work. It explains what the tool does and doesn't do, the use we allow, and how to send us a notice.
What ReelsDownloader does and doesn't do
ReelsDownloader is a free web tool made by MobileByteSensei, a small independent studio. When someone pastes a public link from a supported platform, the tool looks up the media that post exposes publicly and passes the file to that person's device.
A few facts matter here:
- We don't host media. There is no ReelsDownloader library, gallery or search page of videos. Files are streamed from the platform to the person who asked for them, and the stream passes through without being saved.
- We don't store copies. Nothing a visitor downloads is kept on our servers or re-published anywhere.
- We don't index content. The tool doesn't crawl platforms or list what is available. It only acts on a single link that a person pastes, at the moment they paste it.
- We only reach public posts. Private accounts, friends-only posts and subscriber-only content can't be resolved, because we never ask for anyone's login.
- YouTube is not supported, by design.
The work itself stays where you published it, on the original platform. That platform remains the place where the content is hosted.
Acceptable use
ReelsDownloader is intended for saving:
- content the person made themselves;
- content they have the creator's permission to keep or use;
- content that is free to reuse, such as public-domain or Creative Commons material, within the terms of its licence.
It is not for re-uploading other people's work as your own, removing credit, or using someone's content commercially without permission. Our Terms set out these rules in full, and every visitor is bound by them as well as by the terms of the platform the content came from.
How to send us a notice
If you believe ReelsDownloader is being used in a way that infringes your copyright, email us at [email protected]. Putting "Copyright notice" in the subject line helps us find it quickly.
So that we can understand and act on your notice, please include:
- The work. A description of the copyrighted work you believe is affected, for example the title of the video, the account it was posted from, and when.
- The exact URL(s). The full link to each post concerned, as it appears on the original platform (for example an Instagram Reel or TikTok video link). Please list each URL separately.
- Your contact details. Your name, and the email address and postal address or phone number where we can reach you. If you act for someone else, say who you represent.
- A good-faith statement. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use you are reporting is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- An accuracy statement. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your signature. A physical or electronic signature. Typing your full legal name at the end of the email is fine.
A notice that is missing some of these details is still worth sending. We may write back to ask for what's missing.
What happens after you write
We review every notice we receive and respond by email.
Because we don't host the media, the original platform is often the most direct place to have content removed. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and the other supported platforms each run their own copyright reporting process, and removal there takes the post down at the source. You are welcome to contact both the platform and us.
Notices sent in bad faith
Please only send a notice for work you own or are authorised to represent. Knowingly false claims waste everyone's time and can carry legal consequences in many countries.
