How to Download Snapchat Spotlight Videos (Free, No Watermark)
Works with public links only. We never store the videos you download — links are resolved on demand.
Snapchat's Spotlight is its public, TikTok-style feed — short vertical videos anyone can watch and share. Unlike private snaps and friend Stories (which are ephemeral and personal), Spotlight videos are public, which means you can save the ones you love. Here's how.
Important: Spotlight only
This guide is for public Spotlight videos. Private snaps, friend Stories, and Chat media are personal and disappear by design — they aren't public and can't (and shouldn't) be downloaded. Only save public Spotlight content.
How to download a Snapchat Spotlight video (3 steps)
- Copy the Spotlight link. On the Spotlight video, tap the share/paper-plane icon and choose Copy Snap Link (or Copy Link).
- Paste it into ReelsDownloader. Open ReelsDownloader and paste — the video is detected automatically.
- Download. The file saves straight to your device.
On iPhone
Copy the Spotlight link in the Snapchat app, open Safari, go to ReelsDownloader, paste, and download. The video saves to Files; open it there and tap Share → Save Video to add it to Photos.
On Android
Copy the link, open ReelsDownloader in Chrome, paste, and download. The file lands in Downloads and appears in your Gallery.
Why not just screen-record?
Screen recording drops quality, catches UI overlays, and often misses audio. Saving the actual file from a public Spotlight link keeps the original resolution and sound.
A note on respect and privacy
Snapchat is built around privacy. Never try to capture private snaps or someone's Story — this tool doesn't support that, and doing so betrays the whole point of the app. For public Spotlight videos, still credit creators and only re-use content you're allowed to — follow Snapchat's terms. If a link won't resolve, make sure it's a public Spotlight link (not a Story or profile) and contact us if you're stuck.
Frequently asked questions
Can I download private snaps or a friend's Story?
No — and you shouldn't. Private snaps and friend Stories are personal and disappear by design. ReelsDownloader only resolves public Spotlight links, which anyone can view.
Will the sender know I saved their Spotlight video?
No. Spotlight is a public feed, so saving a public Spotlight link sends no notification to the creator.
Is the video watermarked?
The file is saved as the platform serves it. ReelsDownloader adds no watermark of its own; any creator/username overlay baked into the original video stays as filmed.
Why won't my Snapchat link download?
Only public Spotlight links work. A Story link, a private snap, or a profile link won't resolve. Open the Spotlight post and use its Share → Copy Link option.
