What ReelsDownloader is

ReelsDownloader is a free, browser-based tool for saving videos, photos, and audio that you have the right to keep — from Instagram Reels and Stories to TikTok clips, Facebook videos, Reddit posts, and more than a dozen other social platforms. You paste a public link, we resolve the original media file, and you download it in full quality straight to your device. No account, no app install on the web, and no watermark added by us.

We built ReelsDownloader for a simple, everyday need: people constantly find content they want to keep for later — a recipe reel, a workout clip, a family video a relative posted, a sound they want offline — and the platforms themselves rarely make it easy to save the original file. Screen recording loses quality and adds clutter; sketchy tools bury you in pop-ups. We wanted a clean, fast, honest alternative.

Who makes it

ReelsDownloader is built and maintained by MobileByteSensei, a small independent software team. We also publish the companion Reels Downloader app on Google Play (with an iOS beta on TestFlight), which brings the same saving experience to your phone with an in-app browser, a download manager, and offline access to your saved media. The website and the app share the same philosophy: do one thing well, keep it fast, and respect the people using it.

How it works

When you paste a link, ReelsDownloader looks up the public media that link points to and returns the download options the source makes available — for example, HD or SD for a Facebook video, or every photo inside an Instagram carousel. We fetch the original file, which is why there is no re-encoding and no added watermark or overlay. You choose the quality and format you want, and the file saves locally. Nothing is uploaded to us, and we do not keep copies of the media you download.

Because we work only with public content, links that require a login — private accounts, friends-only posts, subscriber-only videos — cannot be downloaded. That is by design.

Our stance on content and creators

We believe tools like this should be used responsibly. ReelsDownloader is intended for saving content you own, content you have permission to use, or content that is free to reuse — for example, your own posts, media a friend or family member shared with you, or public-domain and Creative Commons material. It is not a tool for redistributing other people's work as your own or for infringing anyone's copyright.
